NEWS

25.06.2010  New books from "Books R us"

BOOKS R US LTD has kindly donated five boxes of books to our organisation containing various guides to the nature and people of East Africa as well as novels, a biology dictionary and several other informational books.

The books have been placed at our outreach centre in Ng'ando Village, Dagoretti Division, Nairobi. Apart from being the meeting place for our women and youth groups, it also serves as a library for local children and youth.

Youth and children in this area of Nairobi usually come from very poor backgrounds and have little access to books. Every book the centre receives increases their knowledge, empowering them with greater prospects of a brighter future. HESED is therefore very grateful to BOOKS R US LTD for their much needed contribution.

Fun and sad times!!!!!!!!! Bye Bye to Volunteer

After 8 weeks that seemed like 4 weeks to majority of us at Hesed Africa, Erika had to leave the project to return to her country, USA to continue with her studies. Erika brought a cake that was shared by all children and other volunteers; they all sang to her farewell songs. We shall miss her presence, good work and smiles.  But keep in touch with us and the children.
